Welcome to our
web-site for
Aquaviva Alpacas.
Our belief is to have buyers of our
alpacas feeling that they are
getting a wonderful deal when they purchase our alpacas. We quickly
learned that the thrill of seeing our alpacas do well for their new
owners is far greater than winning that award for yourself.
March 2012 was a wonderful month for Aquaviva Alpacas. During March, Aquaviva Claudius won Supreme Champion at the International 2012 Hapert Show and Aquaviva Quintus won another Supreme Champion title at the Morrinsville Show. Where We Are We are located in North Canterbury, New Zealand. We have built our new farm at Fernside, close to Rangiora. At Fernside, we have 10 acres with 8 acres in paddock. If you are thinking about starting an alpaca herd you are welcome to contact us and come and see our farm. It can be very useful seeing how an alpaca farm is set out, seeing the animals being farmed and also getting your hands on a few alpacas. We have been fortunate in being able to sell many of our crias either overseas or within New Zealand. Out of all crias born at our farm, 20% of our crias have gone on to win National Champion titles (some for more than one year for different age-groups) and 20% have won Supreme Championship titles. Also 18% have been exported (with two winning International Supreme Champion titles in Europe) and we had an alpaca selected for the 2011 National Auction (Cadbury). These figures were current at the end of the 2011 Expo where three of our crias won broad ribbons (Hermes - National Junior Male Champion Huacaya Fleece, Titus - National Mature Male Champion Huacaya Fleece and Quintus - Reserve Champion Adult Male Huacaya). We are thrilled with our stud male, Achilles who has sired for us the winners of Supreme Champion Huacaya Fleece Canterbury Show 2011, National Junior Male Champion Huacaya Fleece, Champion Brown Huacaya Expo, Supreme Champion Brown Huacaya at South Island Colourbration plus a host of other broad ribbons. He is available for limited outside matings so contact us if you would like to consider using him this season. ![]()
