Raphael has
been put on the market by joint owners Aquaviva Alpacas and Greenpark
Alpacas. We have used Raphael over the last three seasons and a number
of our animals now carry his genetics. Also, we would like to focus
more on breeding fawn alpacas and most of Raphael's cria were a
luminous white colour. His sire was
one of Australia's
best -
Jolimont Conquistador and his dam (
Eringa Park
Aroma) has produced three different Supreme Champions and has held
her
fleece qualities into her 5th fleece.
Raphael has had a successful show career in his own right including
winning Supreme
Champion Huacaya at both Ellesmere and
Ashburton Shows in 2005. At the 2008 Expo his fleece was Reserve
Champion for the Male 48-60 months class. This was followed up with
being awarded Champion Fleece 48 months & over at the 2008 Royal NZ
Show.
Raphael has a very friendly temperament, is a beautiful looking alpaca
and is one of our favourites. His fleece has maintained its qualities
as he has grown older (see the results table). The fleece has a lovely
soft handle, an even crimp along each staple and coverage is
consistently spread across his neck, blanket and
legs.
